Today I put in a whole 12 hours of studying. I got a lot done and now my brain is fried and I am going to get the heck out of this school and go back to the apartment, take a nice hot shower, and hit the sac.
In addition to my 12 hours of studying, I also attended two hours of lecture this morning. Talk about a busy day. I feel like I got through a lot of information, but I will need to review it again to really feel as if I have mastered it. Frankly, some of this microbiology is painful to shove into my head. I find it hard to imagine that knowing how bacteria undergo sexual reproduction is extremely clinically relevant. But every physician has to learn this and I guess it's all part of the game called "medicine".
I have something exciting to look forward to though! Today, on my lunch hour, I attended training because I am going to be an interviewer this upcoming semester and next year. How neat is that?!? I get to read the applicants' files, ask them questions, and say whether or not I think that they should be accepted into my medical school. I really think it will be fun to do! It will be great to see another perspective with respect to interviews. According to one of the administrators, the most beneficial thing to me, as a medical student, is that I am going to get a lot of experience at interviewing, seeing the other side as an interviewer, and see what and what not to do during an interview. This will be extremely helpful for me when I start interviewing for my residencies in 3 years! It seems so far away, yet, if time continues to fly as fast as it is now....in a blink of an eye I'll be applying to residencies and anticipating my graduation as a physician. How neat!
Well, I basically can't bear to sit here for another minute (I've parked my butt on this spot since 5:00PM) and I'm going home.
xoxo
